Mary Sheila Akol
Mary Sheila Akol is a research and data analyst with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, mining, analysis and reporting. She is conversant with research and analysis softwares like IBM SPSS, EPI DATA, STATA, NVivo, SurveyMonkey, KoboCollect, and TurboScribe.
She is passionate and enthusiastic about youth advocacy, gender equality, climate action, community service, project management and planning, and peace building & conflict resolution which she drew inspiration during her traineeship as a United Nations Volunteer. Mary believes that curiosity and being informed about diverse topics is the priority key to research and making informed decisions for a sustainable future.
Mary Sheila serves on both national and international youth committees under United Nations agency; UNATCOM and UNESCO respectively and has been nominated as a UN youth delegate and speaker on issues related with statistics, gender equality, climate action, peace building & conflict resolution and intergenerational dialogue in countries like Uganda, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan and Angola. She holds a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Quantitative Economics (BSc.QE), Makerere University.
